They did a collaberation of that song? Or is it one of those re-mix things?

Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms Album - any of you other folks like them their awesome!?
YES! Brothers in Arms was awesome! Still listen to it occasionally. For some reason I'm also partial to Love over Gold.
Right now I'm listening to Know Your Enemy -- Manic Street Preachers.

Rolling Stones: Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) while I put together registration packets for this weekend's Old Mill Century.
Explain to me what makes Bjork worth listening to. I've just never quit gotten it.

More registration packets and more Stones: Jump Back (Greatest Hits '73-'91).
I wasn't going to listen to more Stones, but you know, when you start me up I never stop...

I still like the Sugarcubes, but my aversion to Bjork has grown as every roommate I've ever had has been an obsessive fan. Hearing "Hyperballad" on repeat every weekend morning for a year and a half just might be what killed it for me...

Original songwriting, creative (and good) vocals and instrumentation. Just really good music as far as I'm concerned. But then, it's all a matter of taste. I mean hell, I still say ACDC, Guns n' Roses, Metallica, and a number of other cult-follwed bands sound like ass.
Currently rocking out to some Flogging Molly.

OK...thanks for that. I will agree with the original songwriting. Her voice to me is like nails on a chalkboard, but, I don't like Billie Holliday's voice, either. I mean Lady Day could read a lyric, but her voice was thin and reedy. On the other hand, I'm a big fan of Tom Waits who sounds like he's been drinking sterno and ground glass. I like Waits for his original (friggin' brilliant) songwriting and creative (friggin' brilliant) instrumentation.
As for Guns N Roses, they cut a couple of catchy tracks. Slash is a talented hack. Axl is a screeching poser. And any band that would record a tune by Charles Manson is beneath contempt.
AC/DC does sound like ass.
Metallica is a bunch of asses.
I've always wanted to see a double bill of Bjork and Beck, but that's just me.

I've listened to the new Wilco CD and it drives me nuts because I cant get the songs out of my head for some reason. So I've just dusted of some MC5 and Violent Femmes cd's to try and blast it out.
Very nice, "inspirational" listening.
