I have that one. Put it on to spin every once in a while. They were the proto-hair metal band. I saw them in concert about '76 or '77.

I chickened out on my ride today because all my cold-weather wear is still in a pile of dirty-laundry. So I decided to hook up the trainer and watch some old TdF tapes. Coincidently, I've been really getting into a local Seattle band called The Postal Service who very much remind me of The Lightning Seeds so I've got them queued up in my mp3 player as part of my indoor riding music playlist.

The Best of Jethro Tull. Outstanding! Mozart, early lute music (1500's). I've heard of Kraftwerk, but not in quite awhile. Must check out the new one. Thanks for the tip.

I've been all over the musical map today: Willie Nelson, Cheap Trick, Big Band Theme Songs, and Death and the Maiden (that's not a heavy metal band, it's a Schubert string quartet).

I dragged out 1927 this morning. Some of the Aussies on this forum might remember them. I'm told they're still playing the pub scene on the Gold Coast apparently.

Cripes. There's a trip down memory lane. They've even got a website (http://www.nineteen27.com). Let it go fellas; you weren't that good ;)

I shouldn't talk though. I'm in 80's mode myself with Oingo Boingo's 'Dead Man's Party'.

How did you come up with that site? Is there something you're not telling us? A quick google search a little while ago turned up nothing!

Yeah. I still listen to INXS and Midnight Oil. Here's one for you -- my sister was telling me a little while back that Bros records/tapes are now a collectors' item -- mainly because they were sooooooo bad. Too bad I sold "push" for about $2 to a second-hand shop back in the early '90s.

I used google. Include ...ish in the search terms.

Being a child of the eighties though, I do like a lot of music fro back then. Just not much of the pop stuff (especially Bros). I've got Yello playing now. And of course Talking Heads is my favourite band of all time.

Didn't think of that. Guess you'll come up with a Noiseworks site next. :p

I don't think too many people did like Bros after some of the rumours that eventually circulated about them (or in my case, after I grew out of them). I was growing up in Werris Creek at the time they were big, and my mates and I thought of ourselves as the first of the "sensitive new-age guys", so that was how that got started. Inevitably this meant we had the sh*t kicked out of us in the end!

Obligatory on-topic content: I was listening to The Shins this morning. "Kissing the Lipless" is an awesome track! Ra!

Time to revive this thread.

Today, the mood struck to listen to Toadies "Rubberneck." Great, dark alternative album.

When it's over I think I'll have to put the Andrews Sisters on just to compensate.

I scream at my wife for listening to oldies..In fact a cause in my demanding I always drive...Sexist, HE who drives controls the radio..Household standard..Besides, don't like lane changers in the freeways and she is one......
. I get so sick of oldies.
The point here....Sometimes, remakes are great...From Kill Bill 2(rarely my kind of moive, unsure why we went.)
But anyway, we went.... Anyone hear the tune "She not there."
by Malcolm McLarin (sp?)...Loved it...Love that kind of woeful, punkish sound...
Don't know much about McLarin...Sound track pretty good from Kill Bill....Quentin produces weird movies, but the sound tracks...I like...

The Floyd is on my short list of all time best bands. Rush, I am not a big fan of, though I saw them way back in the ancient days of "Fly by Night." Don't hate them, just not their biggest fan.
