I have one heck of a widespread taste for music, but I tend to like metal, electronica, and hip-hop best....basically anyhting that can keep me awake...
Right now: Ozzy Osbourne, Goodbye to Romance (yeah...I know ozzy and romance are two words that should never colldie, great song though)
Usually:
Lacrimosa
Lacuna Coil
Pantera
Iron Maiden
Danzig
Grieg (yes, even a metalhead can sit down to a nice listening to his Peer Gynt suite :p )
Ramones
Iron Butterfly
Nirvana
Jimmy Hendrix
Blind Guardian
(now for the non-metal, rock or Grieg stuff :D )
Nine Inch Nails
Frontline Assembly
DJ Shadow
Dido
Paul Oakenfold
Prodigy
John Lee Hooker
Chemical Brothers
Frank Zappa (what the heck category of music does this even fall udner...it's too freaking weird to be anything...)

I like the new one, didn't care for the last one all that much, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the new one - more "melodic" is the only way I can think describe it, and they seem to have put more into writing than just going for shock value, ie: actual words instead of just swearing :-) - was listening to that, Motogrator and Avenged 7 Fold at the weekend
New Beasties. MCA sounds like he's been living pretty hard...especially for a Buddhist. He's sounding more and more like a hip-hop Tom Waits.

hello to every bicycle and music lover out there. the post dates from this topic are all circa 2003. at least i think. i'm a neophite "newbie". anyway i love all forms of electronic music. current favorites are japanese emusic. fantastic plastic machine, pizzacato five, riuichi sakamoto, kenso and isao tomita (fusion and classical respectfully). i also enjoy the older stuff too. from 1960 onward.

Scraping Foetus Off the Wheel - Nail yes of course foetus. clint ruin i believe. have much of that along with spk and throbbing gristle among others. listen back to that from time to time. it's electronic to me, very violent and militaristic. but i guess i've mellowed out a bit now. missed the foetus show at first ave years back. regrets.

Heh...don't feel bad. They're an obscure and rather esoteric Canadian band. That album came out in 1995.

Whoa. Gandharvas! Haven't heard (or thought of) that band in ages. Where'd you find that one?
And, yes, they did do a good cover of Time After Time... but not the best. A fella called Paul (thanked in the Gandharvas' liner notes, if I recall correctly) did a top-notchier version. :)

40s as in age or beverage?
The guy was addicted to pain killers. Apparently he'd weened himself on and off other illegal drugs, but the legals stuff was too powerful. Go figure. He medicated to ease the pain of a serious stomach ailment and migrains.

I'm totally stuck on Dropkick Murphy's "Blackout" this weekend - my "new favorite song" ;-) is This Is Our Time - it describes what this song is about on the web site, I've copied it below, only I don't see it being limited to your late 20s - seems to me I wake up feeling that way more often than I should and I'm about to hit 46!!!! - I have to wonder if I'm doing something wrong, or they just haven't been around long enough - hopefully the latter *L
"When you're young you think you are invincible and you know everything. Then sometime usually during your late 20's you wake up in a sweat in the middle of the night and realize you're an *******!"
