Hi all,

Any suggestions for a 1 day road bike rental and/or 1 day bike tours? I'm visiting during the last weekend in March and would like to take in some sights. Thanks for your help.

www.lasvegascyclery.com/tours_rentals/road_bike_rentals.htm or www.procyclery.com/roadtriathlon.htm should be able to hook you up with a good rental.

If you want to go mountain biking, try http://www.allmountaincyclery.com/rentals.htm in Boulder City (near www.bootlegcanyon.org ).

I rented a bike from Mcghies while in Vegas and had a great experience. Make sure that you ride the Red Rock loop. Absolutely worth your time. Make sure you bring lots of water!

I just got back from a few days in Vegas. I had a rental from these folks on Monday:

Riding the Red Rock Loop is a great way to spend a few hours and get away from the hustle and bustle of the Strip. They picked me up on the strip and shuttled me out to the loop...After a few tweeks of the bike, I was given two water bottles, a seat bag with tools and spare tube and instructions on how to get to the pick up area. The bike was a newer Cannondale System Six with mavic wheels and Sram shifters / drivetrain. This was my first ride on a Cannondale and I was really pleased with the ride comfort, but do not like Sram shifting.

The loop is 13 miles of oneway traffic with several pull offs for viewing. The first 5 miles is aprroximately 1500 feet of climbing, but once you reach the summit it's a blast heading back down to the dessert floor. Once I exited the park, I headed took a right for a very smooth 10 mile ride back to the gas station for pickup. The 10 mile ride back out to the pick up point was pretty flat, on smooth pavement and a WIDE bike lane. With the pick up, drop off, ride and then drop off on the strip, it ended up being a 4hr little trip. I would highly recomend it.
