Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Opinions on this bike...Cazenave frame?

Excuse me if I don't know much about this frame and bike. Besides what's listed for it on ebay.

I'm 5'10 and ride a compact frame sized 54. What do you think of the bike and the size(for me).

Why not?

It looks like a slightly better than average gaspipe bike boom frame built up with with crappy parts. The virtual top tube measurement on your current frame and the standover height should help you determine if it will fit.

I guess all things considered $165 is pretty cheap for a bike but it's not worth any more than that IMO.

A guy i go to school with bought a bike from those people off ebay and it was totally ****ed.
Avoid.

BEWARE! I've bought 2 bikes from flybike and was jacked both times. One time, the bike was totally ****ed and unrideable. The other time nothing came for 19 days and it was not in advetised condition. I was a fool for trying them a 2nd time. I had to file a dispute with paypal to get a refund. They are the worst sellers on eBay. True story. They also go by "Roadie Bikes".

$165 for that bike is a little much. I have $150 into my SS, which is tange infinity steel, sugino GLP crank, better wheels,ultegra brakes, and 3 different freewheels.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. Yeah I really want to get into fixed. A few friends of mine went from only riding road to fixed/ss and they love it. I'de rather go more vintage but reliable if possible. I also just finished college so don't have much to spend. Maybe under 200. I have some spare wheels that came with my specialzed road( less than 100 miles on them), if possible I would want to reuse those. So is under 200 with or without wheels too little for what I'm looking for?

Provided the wheels you have aren't some weird low spoke count things, you should be able to rebuild the rear on a cheap track hub and drop the rest of your budget on a higher quality craigslist bike to convert. That or sell the wheels, save up a hundred more bucks or so and buy a Kilo TT.

No the wheels are high spoked I think I'm spelling this wrong but it could be a set of galxco's?. They came with the allez elite on the 07's. I swapped them out and put easton circuits on the bike.

Agreed. These guys suck. I bought a fork from them about a year ago. I waited about 2 weeks and still hadn't received a tracking number. Emailed them a few times and finally got it going and they shipped it. The fork was fine but that's horrible service for a 'dealer' on eBay. Bottom line is...

wow. as soon as someone buys that bike and posts it in fgg, it's getting linked in the jackass thread, deservedly so.

I've also had a bad experience with that seller.

Find yourself a decent road frame at a garage sale, or hook up with a local bike co-op. Learn how to do the string test and where to look for rust/damage, etc when choosing a frame. The experience you gain building a bike yourself will be invaluable.
