I have been reading these forums for the past couple of years. I started biking about 6 years ago when I purchased a Trek mountain bike. I found myself mainly riding on the roads and a few trails. I have been badly wanting a true road bike as I plan on doing the bike across kansas this year. I purchased a Specialized Allez a couple of weeks ago, have not had a chance to ride yet because of the ice/snow. I am nervous as I have never used clipless pedals. We will see how that goes. I am looking for someone nearby who would like to do some riding so I can get into shape and get used to riding with groups. If you are interested and within a reasonable distance of Ft Scott let me know.

Bill,

Former infantry and now civilian paramedic. I could not imagine proving care under fire as the stress without active combat is more than enough. Thanks for the welcome!

I too welcome you aboard the Bike Forums...I am FROM Southeast Kansas, even more south than you, the Parsons Kansas area. Now live in Great Bend, so will not be your riding partner, but as has been said you may just find someone else who is a member here...on the right forum
