I'm new to this sport, but just had the 300k postponed due to weather to next Saturday.

SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 40 MPH ARE LIKELY
ON SATURDAY NIGHT WITH GUSTS AS HIGH AS 60 MPH ALONG THE COAST AND UP
TO 70 MPH IN THE HILLS.

Don't think I've ridden in 40mph sustained winds, which would have been a headwind tomorrow evening heading back to the Golden Gate Bridge.

I'm curious how often brevet's are canceled due to weather.

I'm curious how often brevet's are canceled due to weather. I guess now I'm glad that I didn't decide to pack my bike while coming out here for a work trip. I was mildly tempted to partake in the ride while out here.

A 100k populaire in Springfield was cancelled last year because of 6 inches of snow. The 2003 Boston 200k was postponed due to an ice storm. A couple of guys still did the ride anyway because the new date was inconvenient.

Heard from a friend that a 200K in Texas was cancelled last weekend due to forecast tornadoes.

We haven't ever had a DC Randonneurs brevet cancelled that I know of, but one was rerouted early last year when a storm dumped snow in mountain passes.
