It's not about the house.

BTW - mine is made out of carbon fiber with Ti window sills.

I've got an aero toilet. Not the most comfortable, but certain sacrifices have to be made for performance.

The massive MOTOBECANE logo on the front of your house is pretty sweet.

I feel so worthless and unmasculine not really caring about hi def vs lo def vs big screen/little screen. Maybe some day but not currently in my top 10 list. Now going over to other people's houses to see their works of art always cheer me up a bit. Nice work aham, turned out nice.

^^^^ the home theater side helps balance out the roadie unmasculine side of aham23.

now, if i could get a big arse tv in my bathroom i could be both manly and unmanly on a daily basis.

taking bubble baths while drinking red balanced out by hanging a 50 inch plasma over the crapper?

Speaking of red you guys gotta help me out. Wife has gotten into drinking wine I think because she doesn't really consider it drinking. Having a hell of time finding anything decent.

I figure picking wine is right up your alley...being just that kind of guy....

Home Theaters. Simulated Hockey tables made of air. Fancy roller trainer contraptions in finished basements.

This thread is making me very ashamed of the rancid hell hole that is my tumbledown shack of a home.

I feel your pain. I live in a pink house with a partial basement. No place to put home theater, pool or hockey table. I don't think they had such things in mind in 1879.

Of course I have the cars in the drive and the garage has become a 24' x 24' heated, air conditioned work shop (6 motorcycles, 3 bicycles).

I have a TV. I got it for free. The speakers don't work, but who in their right mind uses those anyway? Anyway I'll just run down the specs:

Type: old fat kind
Size: like 32"
Screen Curvature: high

I'm not going to post any photos because I don't want to let any potential thieves know the layout of the house. Obviously, it's a pretty sweet setup.

Any pics of the TZ? I used to ride with a guy that rode a RG500. I came a hair away from buying a NSR400. Luckily I rode it first. It had the flattest power curve I ever felt. My RZ hit harder. Oh well. I still lust for a crazy big bore 2-stroke street bike. I remember a guy a few years ago at Pocono had a tagged TZ-750. I bet that thing was a monster in the turns.

how does she like it? white or red. dry or sweet or spicey or all or mixed?

i like some of the california reds that combine this and that together. i also like a shiraz cab mix, say 70/30 mix.

i am no expert though, i leave that up to Cy. some of my current favorites include big red house, house (have only seen this at world market) and jacobs creek shiraz cab mix.

i am thirsty.

For a nice, tasty red wine, search for a Trollinger. Should be able to find that in a well sorted liquor store any day.

I started with an RZ350, then graduated to a TZ. Only pics I have on my computer are action pics, stills of just the bike are on film. Here are some.

In order (l to r, t to b)
RC51 - sold-Honda-yuk, last 2 Hondas I owned put in the hospital the second day I rode them.
SV650-sold- good bike, spent heaps o money and time stripping 80lbs off of it, still a 4 stroke.
TZ125-current race bike-cheap and fun, most fun that can be had with your clothes on.
TZ250-retired- raced 7 seasons, never crashed, 30+ victories, 2nd in the national championship in 1994 - by far my favorite bike.

Nice looking bike. I used to help out a buddy during CCS races back in the day. Did you know of Glenn Szarek and Paul Youngman? We used to travel to a lot of the races together. Back then I was riding an old school 87 GSXR-1100. Ahhhhhhh . The old days.

aham, buy a bottle of Trinchero Cabernet Sauvignon at any Jewel/Dominicks/Wherever. Good stuff.

And if World Market has any, pick up a bottle of Bonny Doon California Syrah. They're the winery that puts out the Big House table red. This one even says you're a poser for drinking it. Perfect.

I think they stopped making the Sirrah/Syrah, but it was good stuff, too. Look for the Ralph Steadman Joker label:

I started roadracing in 1991 (motocross 1980 to 1988, karts 1989-1990). I do recall Glenn but don't recall Paul off the top of my head. Don't think I ever raced with Glenn, but he was/is an impressive rider.

Pool:eek: My first-ever addiction to anything! And what did you say your address is? And what beers do you serve on-tap? Don't worry, I have my own cue.:D

Need to get you guys over here some night. You to help me on my bike. Your wife to get some wine pointers from my wife. She went to Napa last year so now she's an expert, just ask her :D

Seriously tho

He had the talent of finding a line through an inside turn that no one else could follow. BIG NUTZ. I would watch him through the back section of Summit and just have to shake my head in amazement.

On the wine thing, the questions for what you are looking for are endless. If you're looking for a good dry red, Sterling makes a decent cab. If you're looking for something a little spicy I'd recommend a red zin (kunde and xyzin are both decent). If you want something lighter a good sangiovese might not be bad, or a blend I've been diggin on a sangiovese syrah blend, good fruit flavors with a bit of dryness on the back end (the one I like is from rocca delle macia).

Talk about sounding like a wine snob, I think I even annoyed myself.

Yeah...don't know for sure. I have liked a few, but the only one I can remember is DeLoach Pinot Noir. I like them dry, warm and smooth I think.

Oh well....guess I'll stick with beer and whiskey.

I serve Aventinus Schneider Weisse, Fat Tire and some other assorted english, german and american micro brewery beers. But only in bottles, don't have a tap yet :)

MGD, Coors, Bud or any other of that watered down stuff is not allowed in my house.

This is definitely going to venture into the realm of TMI, but what the hell.

Yesterday I'm sitting on the throne when I dropped something and had to reach for it on the floor in front of me. Suddenly I find myself in the aero position TT-style. I then find myself thinking of this post...

What does that say about how long this winter has been? Man, I need to get out more

Maybe not in your house, but they have their place. Ice cold cans of domestic swill swimming in the freezing waters of a Coleman cooler at a backyard cookout sometimes fit the bill better than a bottle of the 'good' stuff.

It's all relative.

Sketchy stuff. Sometimes it's quaffable. Sometimes it's not. Very inconsistant.

I rewatched Sideways on the treadmill the last few days and I'm now picturing Psimet getting all crazed at the winery tasting and dumping the spit bucket out over his face.

No, if anyone orders Merlot, I’m leaving. I am NOT drinking any ****ing Merlot!

Read an article that all of the winerys in the Temecula area of Clifornia are putting restrictions on the tour busses and limos that haul people around to their places. Said that since that movie it has gotten out of control. One proprietor mentioned that the spit bucket incident has happened 2-3 times already.

There's only that much a man can take. And a beer has got to be good or I'm opting for ice tea.

Does it have a screw on cap?

Does it have a screw on cap?

;)

Yes, yes they do. Randall Grahm, the wine nut/genius behind Bonny Doon (www.bonnydoonvineyard.com) is very much about the screwcap, even going so far as to host a Death of the Cork (http://www.deathofthecork.com/) event 6 years ago. Here's a Grahm writeup on his thoughts about screwcaps (https://www.bonnydoonvineyard.com/uploadedFiles/Screwcap%20speech.pdf). He also references the New Zealand Screwcap Initiative (http://www.screwcap.co.nz/grids/index_green.asp?id=220&area=4) for further reading.

Bottoms up.

Alright, I am confused. Maybe its because I have been cherry-picking the posts, but this is what I understand, correct me if I am wrong.

A bunch of guys have been invited to go to someone's dark basement to view movies of sweaty guys in spandex (or tight fitting wool, depending on the movie) and drink wine spritzers as a part of being "social".

Is that about it? If it is, it shouldn't be a problem as long as we are not in McHenry county. ;)
