Weather report says 80% chance of rain in the morning. Who is planning to ride? I'll be doing 3hours z1 rain or shine. :)
I was thinking of finding a group ride, but it seems like all the riding here stops at any hint of rain.

Too many of us have recovered from colds and/or crashes to go out on a big rain ride again. Nevertheless, I might make a short ride out of watching the tour finish tomorrow.

I'm going to drag the Red Baron down tomorrow after the rain and ride a little up in the canyons in my neighborhood. With the knobbies on that bike, the debris on the roads won't be an issue.

No ride tomorrow. ITB is feeling a bit tweaked so I'm staying off the bike. Going for a run instead.

Then it's off to Fried Chicken Land... ugh! :(

I feel your pain, Happy. Fried Chicken Land is frightening. And rest up that ITB! I need you back out motivating me up a hill!

No running on pavement, I'll stick to the running trails. With the proper clothing, it might be nice if the rain isn't too heavy.

I don't know how you can take it. The smell of Fried Chicken alone is enough to make me gag.

Well, REAL fried chicken isn't the crap you find out here anyway. REAL fried chicken is fried in spiced cornmeal and very little oil. You're going to be eating the McFriedMac of fried chicken, I'm afraid. :p

No idea what zone 1 is but I wouldn't mind some company if you are anywhere near the IE. I'm going to go as far as I can up Baldy in the morning, then head to Ontario to watch some racing.

Zone 1: Faster then granny on beach cruizer with a busket in the front, but slower then wannabe racers on PCH.

I'm ah, um, sort of thinking about doing the Mens 30+ 4/5 out at Ontario, although chances are I won't even head out that way if it's raining. Otherwise, I'll just stay in probably until I drive over to the Rose Bowl.

Some of us just really really like riding in the wet. There nothing macho about it. Besides, you know what they say about variety. ;)

Funny thing, I have many fond memories of my short career racing motorcycles, but the one that stands out above the rest was a morning practice session on a cold wet track. Those that know me know that I'm normally very quiet and reserved, but I was having such a blast that day that I thought for sure the corner workers (or safety workers) heard me screaming inside my helmet. :) I have a cool-aid smile now just remembering it. :D So, yeah, some of us just really like riding in the wet.

Plans for Pasadena are still up in the air, was going to slog up the mountain 15 or 20 miles from Brookside park roll back and do a circuit or two of the course if open. Still waiting for a carpool call. Nothing happening there, won't solo up and I'm down for trying the rain gear Santa brought me. :D

What time are you planning on starting? Where? I'm in Costa Mesa Fairview and Adams area.

Irvine's a big place:rolleyes:, Windrow Park, Turtle Rock Community, or in that vicinity? Anyway, no calls yet so probably local for me.

I'm not riding tomorrow, still recovering from the brutal 15 miles I put in on the SART today.:o:D:o But we're close, I'm at Fairview and Sunflower on the other side of the freeway. Are you in the apartments/condo's the used to be called "Our Town" across from OCC?

If by some miracle tomorrow is nice I may still go out.

Pasadena is still primary, if I get a call in that regard I'll post at 8am but otherwise meet at the park 9am?

 I've never seen Cleave even pretend flirt. Gee, maybe that's what I need to do. Learn how to clean/maintain my bike and I'll attract tons of men (don't worry, Cleave, I do know you're married).

That's part of the poll options...from fixing your own flats to building up a whole bike.

I'm too lazy at this moment to put it together...:p

I got to ride in the rain yesterday...blah. That was enough...

Ride today? hmmmmmm

Larry, you are a braver man than me. :)

I rode 72 miles yesterday with a teammate. It was a fat burning ride for me because I've been gaining weight since the start of the new year. 72 mile on two bottles of water and two gel packs.

Going to sit on the trainer for a short bit and then head up to the Rose Bowl to do our course marshal thing. I'll probably be wearing a Lightning Velo hat (and a volunteer shirt).
