For those riding in NWI, such as myself, there is now a new map for cycling routes in the area. It's a great map and a great resource. There are two parts. You can download them here:

Nice maps. I've been trying to find a better way to get to Cedar Lake from Wicker Park, where I live.
Going south on US-41 is somewhat of a scary undertaking. I'm going to use this map and see how those path pan out.

Cool. Wish I could help you more but I don't cycle in that area. Good luck!

Have you ever gone up north into Michigan along the Lake Shore? I'm planning on riding to Muskegon this Spring and I'm wondering if there is a good way to get up there along the shore?

Well, I haven't been on it myself yet (the vast majority of my current riding is commuting), but I know that the Calumet Trail runs along part of the South Shore Line, and according to the the map there is a new trail in the works, "Singing Sands", which will connect its east end to Lake Shore drive, which again according to the map has excellent riding conditions. I certainly wouldn't mind starting to do some longer rides this year.
One of my coworkers sometimes commutes on the Calumet Trail.
