Cat 3 in greenville.
It was windy, I didnt feel very good. I got in some early breaks.
On the last lap ~5k out I attacked into a headwind and got first, the field finished like 5-10 seconds behind me.

Good result, Spence. How many points do you have/do you need before you can upgrade and join Cavalao, Jon, and me in getting our asses kicked in the 1/2 fields?

Speaking of getting asses kicked check these stats out:
57.1 miles
2:20 total time (24.3 avg)
293w AP
344w NP
That effort was only worth 45th! I ended up cracking hard on the last lap and finished off the back of the field. I thought a teammate made a break, so I listened to the little voice in my head that was screaming "game over loser!"
Super hard cross winds and highly variable pace made it tough as hell. I can't wait until I can race 35+ where we will average 25mph, but the race will be between 22 and 32mph the entire distance, rather than vacillating between 16 mph to 40mph sustained. OUCH!

According to http://www.usacycling.org/forms/USAC_rulebook.pdf 3-2 requires 50 miles for RR points... the published distance was 49 miles and I think it was about 2% longer than that.;)
No seriously I had 57.1 miles for what was supposed to be 56 so I think Spencer just nabbed himself 10 points.

Ouch. Cavalao, we put in 198 miles around CH between Sat and Sun, a fair bit of it on the intense side, so we got a pretty decent weekend in. Kinda glad we didn't drive down for what you went through :)

I ended up in a hedge. :(
But it was just a group ride - and better the hedge than the oncoming van or falling team-mate.

Raced on Sat at Snelling. Got in the lucky break and finished 5th. Happy with the top 5 but my racing inexperience showed as I was one of the stronger guys in the break but gave up 3 spots to guys that were sitting in...but all in all it was a great race and alot of fun
