Toronto Fall Bike Show (http://www.telsec.net/bicycleshow/html_pages/fallshow.html) :D
Heh cool. I never mentioned UofT :P Anyways, if you happen to pass a guy with a bright blue old ass road bike with a weird geometry (top tube is almost parallel to the tube below it) and a seat post bottle holder that's me.
Fo Sho! Im riding a specialized stumpjumper most of the time with a wrapped up top tube and a red helmet.

Anyone been to Ideal Bikes on Queen and Jones? Someone had suggested to me to get a Rock Tour by Gunnar Bikes and they are the distributors. I've sent them an email but no response. Going to call them tomorrow (last time I called I got the answering machine).

I ride pretty often yeah, but unfortunately winter's coming :( I am at oak ridges, Yonge+Worthington. I'd like to ride more often and longer distance... right now the top i go is around 17 miles (~ 27km).

the last two ride I did with the Donut ride was relatively slow pace all the way to Highway 7, but as soon as we reach the loop going west on Hi-way 7, the pace become very intense like 40 Kliks to 45 kliks, that's where I get drop, I would usually catch the group at Grandma's Bake shop on Yonge and King Road, have a break for several minutes to have another coffee and donut, and proceed to Willlowdale lake, and the big group breaks into several smaller group
Im going to have to try that the week after next, I'll be the guy on the Blue R800, much rounder n most others there! :D

Neato! We could go on one of those TBN rides they have every sat/sun. In fact I was very tempted to go on the 110k ride mussleman lake/goodwood ride.
Or they usually have a leisure roller that goes along the humber valley trails.

Just wanted to say hi, and express admiration for those riding down Yonge St at 9am. My normal commute time, from Yonge and Summerhill, is 0715 or so, and I hate it when I have to ride much after that. I used to do Avenue Road, but the road works are horrible. Hope none of you guys are that idiot who cut me off t'other day, then bounced his way on and off the sidewalk, finally overtaking me (I was doing 28km/h on the street, and he was going on the sidewalk. Poor pedestrians.)

Anyways, I'm in the bloor and bathurst area and make the grueling commute to U of T campus on my dark grey fixie. I'd like to find some people to do longer rides with (fixed or not), as long as they like to push themselves and aren't total geezers.
I will also most likely be going to the bike show on the 16th, so mark me down on the list.

Shiznaz, I am starting a road bike club (includes ss, fixed whatever) at U of T. Any interest/suggestions? I need about 10-15 people to apply for recognition by the SAC. So far most of the people i've talked to didn't seem incredibly interested.

Sure, I'll do it, you get to make up cool titles for yourselves when you make a U of T club. My friends started an ill-fated ski and snowboard club last winter (they never went on a trip), and they officially called themselves 'Super President' and 'The Right Honorable Duke' in their club charter. They seem to let you start clubs pretty easily... what college (or campus) are you at?

Lol! I'm at University college. Sort of defined the purpose of the club to be like the the TBN www.tbn.ca . Organizing weekly rides etc.

I'm going to be at the bike show early, soon after it opens at 10am. I have to meet some classmates later on at 12:30 for a group presentation meeting, so I thought I'd go to the show before, when theres more stuff and the people in the booths are slightly more excited.

They'd actually get in a bike they don't normally distribute? I've been looking for a sturdy touring bike and sent a note off to Bicycling Magazine. The January issue will have a "What kind of bike should I buy" on me. :D They had suggested the Gunnar Rock Tour (http://www.gunnarbikes.com/rocktour.php) and as far as I can tell only Ideal distributes them. After going to the Bike Show today (bought a tire for the trainer and a pair of Pearl Izumi AmFIB Lobster Gloves (http://www.pearlizumi.com/pearlizumi/site/catalog/product.aspx?iProductTypeSubID=21&iProductID=3663&iProductColorsTB=7965)) and then off to Duke's to test a Cannondale T2000, which -- even as a small -- was too tall). Sigh....
I guess custom will be my option... I hate being short. :(

I got a selle italia saddle, a carbon seatpost, a carbon stem and some tubes. That place was packed like crazy. There were some good deals on complete bikes though.
operator, as for ride times, the weekend is good for me, as well as monday. On tuesday and wednesday I only have class until noon. Feel like going on a ride tomorrow (sunday)? I could use the exercise, and I want to test out my new goodies.

How was the show?
Packed. There were some good deals there -- a student of mine got a frame, fork and a camelbak, each for about 40-50% off -- but not surprising the selection was limited. About 25-30 shops max along with a bike tour company and a custom frame/bike builder (Winterbourne).
The Spring show has a lot more selection and some deals if you look, IMO.
