Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - Cateye HL-EL530 fails to turn on, worked fine yesterday

I changed batteries, checked contacts, etc. Worked yesterday, failed to turn on this AM. Do the LED's burn out? Less than a year old. Cateye has a 1 year warranty, but thought I'd check the forum before sending it in in case I can do something on this end.

LEDs don't usually burn out until between 50,000 and 100,000 hours of use. If I had to guess I'd say it's the switch.

I'll see if I can dig out the receipt or get a copy from the LBS and send it in, turns out it's less than a year old; Cateye has a 1 year warranty.
Thanks,
Bill

Pedals to the LBS, Bikeworld of Paducah, KY. Couldn't find my copy of the sales slip, they generated one and faxed it to me.

I have one that won't turn off. Removing a battery takes care of that but is still sort of a pain. I wonder if Cateye got a bad batch of switches, or something.

The 530 uses a magnetic switch and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a little wonky. One could probably rig a test to see if it's the switch or the bulb. But as mentioned, I have money on the bulb being fine.
Mine seems to have a "happy" spot after closing. I have to twist it to just the right place to illuminate.
