Road Cycling - Anyone using speedplay X2 pedals?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Who likes, hates, etc. i am thinking of switching from ultegra to speedplay x2 pedals because my knees and legs are never comfortable in any given postion, and i like some of the features like alot of float and double sided entry.

I use the X2s, love 'em. I was a little worried about some bad comments I'd read prior to my switch, but don't want to use anything else now. Easy entry and exit, and, with the covers, the walking part isn't so bad.

I switched from Look p396 to X2's this spring, and love them, love the float.

Yup. I got my Speedplays this year. Switched from Eggbeaters with the road cleats.
Speedplays are easier to click in with. (IF you keep them clean)
Tons of float. (My knees are MUCH happier with Speedplays)
Speedplays are a little tougher to unclip with, but I quickly got used to that and now unclip without even thinking about it.
Cleat covers are a must in my opinion.
I've been riding X2s for almost 3 years, I love em.
My knees love em. Keeping them clean is important as
is lubing the cleats (a drop of lube on the spring/clip).
Another thing which can cause problems both clipping in
and out is when you apply cleats to shoes do not overtighten the cleat cover (final plate) is can compress
spring and make clipping really tough. Speedplay documents this on their web site.
All in all great pedals.

I have been using X2s for a year. Great pedals, don't pay any attention to the "skating on ice" statements. If you aren't used to them in the first few blocks I'll be suprised. I agree that keeping the spirng lubed is a good idea. Clipping out is easy if done at the top of the pedal stroke by pushing your food forward and out at the heel. Good Riding.
I have ridden on the X2 for a summer now, at first I thought it was hard to clip in, but then I lubed the spring like the directions say to (who read's directions??? :D) and that seemed to make it a lot easier). I just got those clip covers too. Overall I like them but still getting used to all that float. I tend to ride Time ATACs on my commuter and all my mountain bikes and the X2s have way more float than them. Kind of odd feeling at first.

Love my Speedplays. Seemed to clear up some nagging knee aches. Just read the instructions first, keep the cleats clean, and get some cleat covers.
Trust me.
I got a set of Speedplays with my new Trek road bike. I've only had the pedals for about 2 weeks now but I love 'em. They are very easy to snap into and the side movement while clipped in is a great bonus. It did take me a while to get use to kicking out since it requires a bit more effort.

Like everyone else here, I love them. Wouldn't use anything else.

I ordered them, i am not going to get rid of my '03 ultegra SPD-SL's until i try them. I have to call speedplay and get cleat covers now. My knees are freaking killing me. I ordered the X2's for $150. My LBS only had the X1's for like 270 or something and that was more than i wanted to spend.
