If you live in So. Cal. or have a connection there, I think they have two new 2007's (ultegra crankset) left, a large and a small, only $2500. Good until 29FEB2008 or until they're gone. Screaming deal for that level of tandem. I have no connection with the shop, just passing along a deal. Kind of says something about the resale of my T2000 though.

That is a very nice price on the T2000 for sure....back in the day I lived in Long Beach and bought a couple of bikes and a lot of parts from their Long Beach location at Spring and Bellflower... good folks with good service and good inventory. It was the mid 90's and they only had the one store as I recall, so obviously they have done things very well and have grown nicely.

You aren't the only state that shares a border to the south.;)

Kind of says something about the resale of my T2000 though.

It's these kind of "bargains" that drove me to use fair market value based on replacement cost for my used tandem pricing tool.

While I can appreciate that there comes a time when dealers feel compelled to blow-out inventory of spec. bikes that didn't sell -- or sometimes get their hands on special year-end factory close-outs -- it certainly tugs at the conscience of customers who paid at or near retail for the same model perhaps only a few weeks or months earlier. Cannondale really did a number on their past customers who bought the very nice RT3000's when they overhauled their tandem line-up and dropped the price by nearly a 1/3rd. Even my used tandem pricing tool has a hard time adjusting for a manufacturer who really does lower the MSRP of their tandems since the new tandems really do become a better value.

I know it's just business... but it still stings at times.
