This film is not much out of date with what they do now in Europa. I was doing such a tour in Germany. Train, beer and all what was shown. Our cycling attire was more specific however the bikes look similar.

I'm stuck with 19th century dial up service, so moving pictures are out of my league.:(

I would love to take a relaxing tour like that one.

That reminds me of several rides I made in '07. Riding through small towns, stopping for a bite to eat, then out over bridges, through woods & pastures. This has several characteristics of my everyday rides.

Although my first reaction was, "Gee, that's a lot of people to ride with!" I only rode with someone else twice in '07. So that was different than my rides, along with the drop bars and riding on roads. Although those country roads shown weren't a lot different than some of the bike trails I've seen.

I also liked the walking up hills shots. I've certainly done that a few times.

Well, I was enjoying it until they started walking beside their bikes. What the heck was that about?

Fun.

Reminds me of my tour of Holland in 1982--single speed bike + beer, bread & cheese (which I had for lunch every day 'cause that was all I could say in Dutch).

Neat Flick! For some reason it reminds me of growing up in the sticks in Texas. I used to ride my Schwinn 3 Speed to escape to far away places and even to a pay phone at a filling station a few miles away. We didn't have a phone until I was in high school. Great memories!

Similar here. In fact, I got into cycling by by knocking around Europe for six months in this way almost 25 years ago. Perhaps that's why the hammerfest never had much appeal for me.
