Hello all,

This Saturday I got together with a group of friends and went to Cycle U (www.cycleu.com) here in Seattle for a little pre-season fitness testing. I am the newbie in the group and this is my first time. That and for the last ten years or so, I have done zilch for exercise. So to make a long story short, I recently bought an '05 Tarmac Pro and took the plunge straight into cycling. And you all should have seen me surrounded by my buddies, all of them accomplished roadies and me in the middle, ready to die after my first 5 mile time trial on the Computrainer at Cycle U. I soldiered on and completed the second 5 mile TT and two 0.2 mile sprints.

Interestingly, the next day I went on a 'little' 20 mile spin down a local trail and felt great, much better than the last time I rode it, which was the previous Monday. I felt like I had a lot more stamina in spite of almost gone into cardiac arrest the previous day.

So what I'd like to know is this: how do I apply the results of my fitness testing to a) weight loss, and b) increased stamina? I have a basic understanding of how to look at my HR and power output (if you can call it that in my case) but I'd rather hear from those who know rather than lead myself astray. If it's important, I am 5'9" and 200lbs. :D Below are MS Word files with my results.

I thank you all in advance!
