So here I am sort of going through my 2008 race/organized ride schedule and I see THIS:

Saturday, April 26th
My annual season kick-off, the WiSport road race in Whitewater, WI
This would be my fourth year of competing in it.

Saturday, April 26th
The WCA Whitnall Park Crit, where 'real' racers gather all day long to compete on basically my home training route. Where a certain BF member named recursive will be racing again, as was Cromulent and a couple others I believe last spring.

Now what?

Two great events on the same day, too far apart to do both.

I could be at UW Whitewater doing this:

OR

I could be enjoying myself photographing and cheering on THESE guys:

Of all the weekends in spring, why did these two events have to share a date?

Arrrg....

Hip,

Pick one. I will be doing one myself. Haven't made up my mind totally on which one, but was leaning towards the WiSport one.

Look at it this way....you could be cheering on us, or dropping the hammer on...me ;)

Yeah right....in my dreams.
Remember, there is only one true hammer dropper:

...make sure to let me know which one you do.
If I pass on doing the race this year (and I certainly could) I may just bring the Hip Chocolate Milk Wagon to the other event for the BF guys. Frunkin and recursive know it well. :)

Phil:
Do the WW race.
You've got a number of other crits in SE Wisc. during the summer where you can kick back and watch/photograph -- and maybe even ride in a few. Recursive riding any of those WCA crits or Superweek?

It's a rare trip for WiSport to SE Wisc (Ft. Atkinson in Sept. in the next trip back).
Either way, I'm sure you'll have fun.

I think so...recursive rode in the Elm Grove crit last year (I was out of town for that one)

I will be doing the whitnall park crit most likely. The goal this year is to make it to the 3's, and unfortunately wisport races don't count toward upgrades.

If I were you I would race.

+1 to racing. Go race.

I'll be taking my own advice and racing all summer, so there will probably other opportunities for sittin around talkin' trash. But I never miss an opportunity to race.

Easy one hands down . . . race! As the others have said, there are 18 other Wisconsin Cup races to go watch, including 7 Milwaukee area races . . . and that's not including the Superweek races.

A better question for you Hip is if you've circled August 24th on your calendar yet . . . the Chiro Partners Time Trial. Just you, your bike and the clock . . . should be a fairly safe way for you to get your first USCF Points!

You do the Wisport race, in the AM right? Have someone drive you to Halescorners and catch the 2's race in the afternoon. A thorough massage in between will have you jumping off the the front of that pack by lap 4.

Don't make any rash decisions without checking with Coach Jerry first.

Actually I'm surprised he doesn't already have all of this figured out for Hip already. Should have been preparing with training months ago....

....so what's it going to be Hip? Do I run over at Whitnall park with the freaks of genetics? or do I run with you in whitewater?
