I am looking to upgrade from a hybird to...... i have my eye on the trek 7.2 or a diamondback. Just wondering if either one of these bikes are better than the other and why. The trek wil cost me about 400 and the diamondback will be around 350.00.
Thanks for the help

i'm new to riding -been at it a year and i try to ride 15 miles- i don't know a whole lot about the diamondback brands so i was wondering how do they compare overall, to the trek i have a trek dealer in town so he is trying to lean me toward the trek7.2
Thanks again

A mid-level Diamondback in my experience is a lesser bike than a mid-level Trek, if for no other reason than resale value. In my opinion, Diamondback falls in squarely between department store brands like Next and Mongoose, and bike shop brands like Trek, Giant and Cannondale.

I replaced my commuter with a Trek 7.3fx a few weeks ago, and absolutely love it. The thing cooks.

Trek makes awesome bikes, IMO much better than diamondback. My neighbor has a 7.2fx, and it's also a very nice bike, however if I were you and could afford it, I'd go for a 7.3 (which is noticeably superior in almost every component.)

Trek FX's are great!

Get the Trek. They're quality bikes at a decent price. You might look at the Trek FX series -- it's essentially a road bike with flat handle bars. If you're looking for something with some zip but not an all-out road bike, the FX is worth a look.
