Howdy Yall, I am 58, retired and just getting back into bicking after a long lay off. I have been running for years but the back and knees have told me to start riding again. I followed a friend's advice and tried a recumbent to make it easy on my back. I started by borrowing a Bike-E and then bought a '06 model Bacchetta Giro and started putting on some miles. Good for weight loss for sure. The bent bike is ok so far but the other day I met a man with too much money and and not enought garage space. He sold me a Bianchi Giro with 28 miles on it for a very very modest sum. Now I am giving the road bike a shot also. The first thing I noticed is that some different muscles are used. It sure is lite and rolls sweet.
I want to take my hat off to the folks on the over 50 forum. Lots of motivation found there.
See you on the road, Gulfdaddy
