My standard dim sum tea is Pu-Erh (Mandarin) or Bo Nay (Cantonese). Same tea, very strong, cuts the grease.
In Irvine, try dim sum at Irvine China Garden; in Artesia try Ten Ten on Pioneer Blvd; in Fullerton try California Asian Bistro

pu-erh quite strong for morning tea..i would go with Queens blend, oolong or orange peako...if you want a softer better tea for your digestive system you can always go with camomille..Tea bags are usually blends.. cheap blends you are better of buying loose leaf than tea bags... you must also consider the taste of the milk in your region as well as water quality... diferent teas have diferent brewing times... for example if your green tea turns yellow it means the water is way too hot and you brewed for too long time...make sure you find a decent tea store online or in your city and try diferent types...

Most tea is blended.* The un-blended is called "self drinking tea" if you want to look for it. You'll pay a premium.
*This is from a book I have on tea history, written by Lord Twinning.
