I just signed up for the metric. I'm a wuss, what can I say. Anyway, there are 246 slots left out of 2500. Here's the website. It'd be cool to meet up with fellow BFs.

Both Bossman and I are signed up and I believe we'll be doing the metric also. We've made reservations to stay overnight on Friday so maybe we can all get together and ride. Keep in Touch.

I'm doing the 200k and my wife is doing the 100k. I usally do most of the 200k so I can do Colman valley and them b-line back to the hotel and pick her up to do hers, so it ends up 150 miles or so. It's an awsome ride, lots of fun. Enjoy!

I signed up for the 100 mile version. I'll be doing it with my wife, Tricia.
How much do the routes have in common? Can we start together? I know when we did the riverside ride the 100K and century started in opposite directions!

I am recruiting some folks to do this, and should hopefully sign up before end of next week.
I'm gonna find out if Andy (NeCrO632) can do the ride with me and Thien and his girl. That is, if the boss gives me the okay! DOH!!
If I do it though it'll be the 100k.

I've been reading the threads about the rides this weekend, but I really can't. I'm totally out of shape, that's why I'm setting up myself the goal to be ready for the century on May 3rd.
But I'm sure I'll see you soon on a ride ... Gracias !

I had the same concern, but this seems to be a very popular ride, and we shouldn't have any problem re-selling the registration if necessary.
And I really would like to join your ride. I'm not familiar enough with the East Bay and this sounds like the perfect opportunity, but I really can't :(

There's still lots of snow a few miles up but not so much in Twain Harte. VMC (Wayne) works at Dodge Ridge and there's still a large base up there! :p

I had planned on coming down with the GF and riding the 100 mile (the GF was going to do the 35), but then they went and scheduled her most important softball tournament of the year that weekend. It sucks because I was really looking forward to hanging out with you two. Congrats on buying the business. Maybe we'll have to come rent a cabin one weekend.

Just curious: is it considered renegade riding if we do the ride without registering (now that registration is closed)? Obviously, we'll bring our own food and water, but if we run out and couldn't replenish outside of the course, would we be turned away at once at the food/water re-fill (or worse yet, publicly shamed)? Thanks.
Two months to get in riding shape for 120 miles. Other than 'riding a lot' what else do you folks have in mind?

Don't really know. I feel like I'm ready for it now with all the commuting I do. The only thing I can think of is to get more recovery time in, take it easy and rest, days before the ride.

No one can tell you you can't ride your bike on open public roads.
But asking for food and/or water at a rest stop when you aren't
registered will indeed get you a large dose of public shame, and
you'll be sent packing.
Thread bump. Booked a room at Motel 6 on Cleveland ave. About 4 mile ride over to the starting point.
