Hello Mountains - Plains crowd! This is a single day, three mountain pass tour that takes place every year near my hometown of Steamboat Springs, CO. They have a few routes, ranging from the full 110 mile, three pass ride, down to a family-friendly cruise along the Yampa River Core trail. It benefits a good cause, too, and you get to spend a day or so in the beautiful Yampa Valley! I'm hoping to be in good enough shape to do the fully tour by the date in late-July, but if not I'll be doing one of the shorter routes. Check it out!

Also, has anyone done this ride in years past? I'd be interested to find out what people think. :)

I'm out of town that weekend or else I'd love to do that ride. Although going up Rabbit Ears from the west is gonna suck. Talk about getting wiped out right from the start.
I sorta did that ride last year as part of the BTC. The ride up Rabbit Ears is a grunt but you've got fresh legs. The ride up Gore Pass is more gradual but still tough. Luckily, we had a tail wind coming into Steamboat from Gore Pass otherwise it might have been a pretty rough finish.
Yeah. The ride up Rabbit Ears from the West is a common goal ride around here. That said, the exciting part is, once you've made it to the summit, (if you're doing an out and back) the reward on the way back down is such a thrill! :)
looks good ...i'm interested in this event if it's got less than a thousand riders. i'm also interested in the 12 hour rio stampede (http://www.tourdesteamboat.com/24%20hours%20of%20Steamboat%20site/index.html).
I can't imagine either ride has more than 1000 riders. Both are relatively local rides, not huge events like BTC or RTR. I'll try to get some more information for you and let you know.
