Southern California - Is it tomorrow yet?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Tomorrow, I get to go pick up my new bike. There's a lot of lightweight trails around my house in the hills of La Habra, so I'm going to get a cross bike. I'm going after the Lemond Poprad; my brother has a "hook up" at Jax Bikes, so I'm going to go see his buddy.
Plus, I figure that with the gearing on the bike I can throw a set of road slicks on it and I'll be better able to work hills with my brother and his wife than I am on my 53/42 front/12-25 9 speed back road bike.
I think it will probably become my primary bike, unless I'm going out specifically on flats.
Nope. Today is still today. Sorry. :D

Last I checked, yesterday was today. Although, I admit, I haven't checked for a day or so.

cross bikes rule. you'll have so much fun on it. what i found cool was with some road slicks i can descend faster than my regular road bike. extra weight, slack angles and longer chainstays mean you can fly on road descents.
Sorry, but tomorrow never comes.

Countdown 40 minutes...
Sorry, folks, but my pet bird almost bit the dust on the way out. Like a ******bag, I both had her out of her cage AND the fanlamp running; she took off and got whacked by a blade. She fell to the ground seizing and twitching. Nothing broken, though, and she seems to be fine now (if not still a little woozy.)
Anyway, Jax didn't have the bike I wanted in stock, but they had a guy out at Trek anyway, so they're picking it up for me and it should be ready between 3 and 5. Pics will most certainly be posted.

Eek! Hope your bird is OK...:(
She seems to be. For about 30 minutes, I wasn't sure. Her pupils were all dilated, her claws were all curled up, and she couldn't stand on her own. But I held her and pet her and did all that "good, loving pet owner" stuff and she seems to be OK now. She's moving around, eating and drinking, although she still seems a little woozy at times.
Luckily I'm off work today so I can keep a close eye on her.
So, I got my bike; a brand new Lemond Poprad. My brother's buddy at Jax was AWESOME. Jax was out of the bike in my size at all locations so they had to order it. Which meant it wouldn't have gotten to me until tomorrow or maybe Monday. Anyway, he called in a few favors and was able to get it picked up from Trek and delivered today, and had it assembled and in my hands by 5:00pm.
No pictures yet. They'll come over the weekend. :)
