Introductions - 'Lo everyone

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Greetings, I am very happy to have found this site. A little bit about me, I am a cop that rides bikes for a living here in Georgia. Love the job and am looking for people that are a lot more knowledgeable than me as far as bikes go, and glancing over the pages here I do believe I have found that place.

I am here to help where I can. :D But I think you may find I ask more questions than I am asked about.
We are currently running Treks. There are all about 7 years old, and I am trying desperately to get some new bikes. I took over the bike patrol about 2 years ago, or actually reformed the unit, and it has been very hard to get funds to pay for new bikes, but they do things like pay $350.00 per bike for our pretty blue lights... But they are slowly coming around as I show them what a bike squad can do.

I live in a very small town on the north east side of Georgia (Elberton). We are in between Athens and Anderson, SC. And yes the site is a forum and it is open to everyone, but it doesn't have half the information one can find here. I am just getting it started, and am always looking for help. ;)

BikeForums is definitely a place to learn, and most of the members here are quite helpful (even if some of them are scofflaws and run stop signs :o ). I think most of us here find the bike patrol officers in our respective areas to be friendly folks (I'm just south of Seattle, WA).

I'm a newbie too and I can safely say this is a mecca of information. Good Luck!
