Pretty much the title says it, and I'm curious. Do you ride a road bike, mountain bike, recumbent, cyclecross, "comfort" bike, or what?

Me? Well due to the fact that I ride mostly dirt with some odd bits of asphalt here and there, I ride a mountain bike.

However, I'm in the process of building a roadie to satisfy my speed/long distance urge.

I ride a MTB in winter, a hybrid for all other seasons and I'm looking for an older road bike to fix up and ride longer rides.

I go both ways... dirt and road. I ride a 2002 Lemond Zurich on the road and have two mountain bikes, a 2007 Santa Cruz Superlight and a 2005 Specialized M4 Stumpjumper hardtail, During the summer I also commute to work on a beater bike, an old Cannondale road bike.

I'm probably a stronger roadie but love mountain biking. Something about being out in nature, no cars, just beautiful scenary...

My trustee old steely. Twice ridden in the French Central Massif, once in the Pyrenees and countless times up a nice long and steep hill where I used to live in Germany. That was the best training hill, ever.
Shimano 105 all around and Chrom-Moly frame, new Mavic Open Pro rim with Wheelsmith spokes, build by myself.
http://gallery.geekazoids.net/d/4416-2/IMG_0303.JPG

My new steed, bought last year after the rear rim of my old steely broke and only a few days before a century. So instead of buying a new wheel I bought a new bike :D

Me? Well due to the fact that I ride mostly dirt with some odd bits of asphalt here and there, I ride a mountain bike.

However, I'm in the process of building a roadie to satisfy my speed/long distance urge.

I started with an MTB, a Norco Bushpilot, found that mountain riding wasn't for me, swapped the knobbies for some 36mm wide slicks, added fenders and rear rack, so it's more commuter like. I need to swap the crank for one that's a little more roadish, and swap the fork for a solid one, I don't mind using experienced components, as long as they are in good condition. I want to stick with a triple as I would like to tour..... I wonder about picking up an old road bike as another option.....

No pics (I'm a freakin photographer you'd think I'd have SOME but no).

My main ride these days is an IRO fixed/free that I usually fide free/single speed. 1" riser bars and two brakes, and SKS fenders (tight squeeze but they work).

Shop is currently working on my new bike (can't wait) a Rivendell Atlantis (what can I say? it fit).

I also have a 2000 Cannondale Jekyll 3000 with full XTR but it's too small and I don't live where I used to so it hasn't been ridden in ages, really aught to sell it...

Just realized I have a really odd mix of bikes.
