Hi folks,

I'm not experienced with touring bikes, and would love to get a good deal. However, from the description below, I can't figure out what this frame is--nothing comes up on Google. It sounds relatively custom (which might be good or bad); any remarks on whether this is a good deal? The "Kastle" is the one I'm interested in, the Miele sounds much too big (I'm 5'11" or so). Thanks!

"Kastle" is "Dan Valvey designed" frame built by "Ritchie"; all 'Campy' gear (eg: 9 speed 'Mirage' rear derailleur...thumb-lever shifters under brake levers) w/ racks front and rear for panniers. Approx 1000 miles on bike and always cleaned after riding...paint etc perfect shape; tires 90%...(this bike is a 9.5 on 10 scale) frame would suit 5'10"' to 6'3"....$600. The "Miele" (Italy) is an older XL framed (suit to 6'5"+) 12 speed...semi-hand made hi-manganese alloy frame...very deep 'cockpit' and also w/ lo-miles (maybe 500?) since new. Silver-grey paint is 'as new'...original tyres etc too all vg. $400 for this one...(one has to go) NOT 'distress sale', but 'motivated' to sell one of them. Sorry no fotos...(must see/ride a bike like this to determine 'fit' anyways) Rsvp this medium and/or call me on (deleted for privacy for poster) from noon thru midnite (only svp!) to arrange to test-ride any day same approx hours. Thanks!

Fit anyone from 5'10 to 6'3...Not likely.

See if you can have the guy email you pics.

It's probably a decent bike but you can get a REI Randonee close to 600-700 bucks when they do the 20% off

The 20% for members is going on for the next month. Just got the email about it today.

The Randonee is actually $820 with tax with the coupon, but still a damn good deal. Just bought one yesterday for my first tour! :)

Alas! I'm in Canada. We have no REI.
