Hi you all~ Nice to be here.
I am a cycling fan from Guangzhou, China. I have a bike of Merida Worrior, it has been with me for nearly two years. And we had some long trips, maybe totally more than 3000 miles.
Last summer, I had a bicycle journey with my friends from Beijing to Hangzhou, it took 1250 miles, and half a month. I am now longing for more bicycle trips. But I'm seized by my job. I can only ride out of my door at the weekend, when it's a pleasant period.
I'd like to keep myself with English, and my ridding life. So I come here to communicate with you. It will be a great favour to me if you don't mind chatting with me. And also, I believe everyone can be friend.
If you have any questions about cycling in China, you should turn to me. I will do my best to be a help.
Welcome to Bike Forums from Riga, Latvia! You should check out the Touring forum, there is a lot of good info there about long cycling trips. Enjoy!

ni hao way liu, (my father marketed aircraft engines to China in the 70's and 80's. Ni hao and 'gan bei' (cheers) are the only Chinese words I know :p)
A lot is being made here in our media about the air quality in Beijing during the Olympics. Can you tell me how it is in your city and if it affects your cycling?

Welcome!
I enjoyed reading your introduction.
Although there are some selections of words that are different than some would choose, your grammar is better than most Americans.
Are you excited about the Olympics that will be held in China?

Hi Treker, thanks for your reply.
So I dare to say that your father has made great contribution to China's aircraft industry:), he must be a good example to you. Ni hao and gan bei are used everyday in our life in China. We say hi to each other when we say "Ni hao", we drink to each other after we say "gan bei". But two words only is not enough for our everyday life, so I teach you another one: "xie xie" , the pronunciation can be [∫e ∫e]. hehe, hope you enjoy this word. That means "Thank you"
I must say the air quality now in Beijing is much better than ever, while I stayed in Beijing for 6 years. I love that city, it's wonderful and worthy to have a long trip there.
But concerned to my city, Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, the air condition is not that good. it's cloudy over 120 days a year because of the tiny dust in the air. Yes, it's not that pleasant to cycle here in the urban area. But in the countryside, to have a cycling trip is a fantastic experience. Welcome you to China to have such experience.:)

Thank you for your kindness to encourage me with my English.
As a matter of fact, I have been learning English for almost 15 years, but the fruit is not that good, I can just communicate with English speaker in a simple way. Anyway, I will keep on learning it, and surely I will enjoy the experience here in Bikeforums.

As far as the Olympics is concerned, every Chinese feel exited about it. It's an honour to be the host of the Olympic Games. It will be held in Beijing this summer on August 8th. A large crowd of people will rush into our capital Beijing, I'd like to, but I don't have a holiday. So I will enjoy every matches on the TV.
You are welcome to China that period. You will feel the friendship of Chinese people. How about have a long cycling trip from USA to China?:p
