Here are some pics of my trailer. I have since done a new seatpost tongue (no camera at present) that uses whitish flexible plumbing plastic tubing. It all collapses and fits in suitcase with bike for air travel. At airport I unload bike and trailer and put my other gear in suitcase and off I go. Total cost $2 for hinge pins to make the axle split for travel. All the rest from construction dumpsters.
That's pretty cool. And does your whole set up come in under 50 lbs to avoid the extra baggage costs? And what about personal luggage? Do you have a smaller case for clothes that fits in the larger case? Or do you carry a backpack or maybe stack something on the rack?
I've been pondering this, too. I was thinking that if I could carry the suitcase on my bike, I could land at my destination, assemble the bike, and head out, but then I couldn't figure out how I'd carry all my gear and a 2nd suitcase, but this could solve that problem if you can pack a 2nd case small enough to fit in the first.

Yes I carry a soft light suitcase for clothes that fits in the trailer or sometimes just a cardboard box and toss it at airport. Bike easily gets under the 50 lb limit with the trailer wheels and axle. Anything else heavy I carry on or put in other piece. Wish I had my camera so I could post the tongue design, very cool, strong, and light weight. Uses hose clamps to hook a large eyebolt to plastic pipe and other end then clip to seatpost with a U bolt lined with inner tube that slips right over seatpost. At suitcase end a carribiner hooks to nylon straps (the free orange ones out of construction dumpsters) that circle suitcase. A black rubber bungeee holds suitcase to axle. The pipe isn't rigid PVC but hot water tubing that is semi rigid and you can bend at will with a hair dryer. It is sort of translucent white. Dumpsters have everything you need. I am attaching a pic I found on web of the eyebolt shock absorber I incorporated , neat idea but I forget who posted it.Somewhere in bikeforums utility group. My seatpost attachment though I like the u bolt better as I can slip it over seatpost in no time. I have a bolt pin that slips through the rubber gasket (mine is a old auto hose from aauto garage trash) and then slips in the u bolt and is held tight by friction
