Hey does anyone know when /if there will be a bicycle show at NAVY pier this march? Alternatively will there be one in milwaukee/West Allis at the fairgrounds? I cannot wait to get a big sloppy burger and a Custard after.

Yeah...they're doing it again...not sure of dates....check the Wheel & Sprocket site I guess...they are the ones that put it on. I've never really found much there though...more taylored to families buying hybrid bikes etc.

Not a lot there....but the custard, that awaits at several places and may be worth your time alone!

Here ya go:

This guy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_E._Stephens)was to busy hanging out with the Mob to worry about bike lanes.
I think I will ride my bike down Lawrence to the Jefferson Park L stop. Hop on the L there.

So the show is this weekend. If you go on Saturday morning, stop by at the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation booth. I'll be there.

I'll inquire over in the touring forum, but local/midwest is what I want to know about. I would like to get a closer look at various saddle[bag] and pannier options- especially since the quality ones seem to cost a fortune. Does anyone know of a bike show that features more touring gear? Would this be at an outdoor show instead of a bike specific one?

Thanks,

Erick

Don't know about any touring specific bike shows, but Rapid Transit carries Ortlieb and Uptown bikes carries both Arkel and Detour. Visit them for some close-up quality time with your future pannier

Thanks, Duppie. I haven't been to Uptown since I lived in the neighborhood a good excuse to head up north.

I'm not thinking that the shows themselves would be touring specific, but one that might have a stronger presence of gear.
