Bicycle Mechanics - Frequent replacement of tires and Slime

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi!
I change tires on my bike (road/dirt trails) with some frequency. Will it be easy to replace tires if I put the Slime product on my tubes?
Slime increases the difficulty of changing tires marginally. With all the practice
you have had, it should not be a problem :D Others have reported that slimed tubes are 'unrepairable', (patches dont stick). Steve

Slime doesn't seem to really work at pressures greater than about 45 psi. It also tends to clump together in the cold, leaving a seriously unbalanced tire. A frind of mine actually used it in a tubular once, and it not only didn' seal a very small leak, but it also ruined an expensive tire. I wouldn't use the stuff.
OTOH, Tufo makes a very good sealant. It isn't cheap, but it does work, even at very high pressures. I've had Tufo sealant work just fine on a tubular at 140 psi.
