Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - very wrong post count

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Not that it is that big a deal, I noticed that my post could was very wrong. Before the upgrade it was around 1500 somewhere, now it is at 496. In addition, when I view all previous posts, it gives me 500 of them.

2/3rds of your posts were in the lounge area. Sadly, the database permissions for all sub-forums to the lounge were so corrupt / mixed up; I had no choice but to prune thoes forums before upgrading.
How do you explain the disparity between the number of posts listed and the number provided in the show all posts link?

I think it would be better if there was NO post count kept. You post when you wanted to, and who cares if you have or have not posted before, or how much you write or don't!

I have to agree with DnvrFox. Post count is only a substitute for where some are lacking.
I don't really care that much. Its not a big deal, I'm just afraid it might be a symptom of a larger problem.

I updated the post count counters, to show your true amount of posts on the forum. Not sure why it was off earlier. The search only shows the last 500 results, this is due to the high server load of some searches. To test this search for any popular word, ie, bike or bicycle. You will be shown the last 500 results only. Depending on the server load over the next month, I may show full results.
