Mountain Biking - hope site...new stuff, or i am just slow

any of you been to the Hope site lately?

they have a couple new things i didn't know about. some new lights. looks like a nice mounting set-up.

also, i didn't realize the mini pro was sub 300g. i am assuming that is 160mm rotors. i was looking to get oro puros or martas for something different, but i might just stick with these. i am happy with my other hope brakes.

they also have a new "out-board" bb. i am assuming this can be used with all cranks?

I've known about the brakes for a while, but didn't know about the BB. I would assume that it is a standard EBB, compatible w/ Shimano, Raceface, and FSA, seeing as Hope doesn't make cranks...

As for weights, yeah, it's a claimed 295g for 160mm, and 265g for a 140mm rotor. :D

That stuff has been up for a while and from what I hear, you ARE slow. :p

I know a few people that are interested in the BB including my self but have not heard much about it but then again, I have not really searched the info out.

If you get the Mini Pro's let me me know how they work for ya. The course for our local DH series is not very long nor supper steep and I was thinking off tossing a set of those little stoppers on a DH rig.

i never really go through BB's. probably for the following reasons: low miles ;) , easy and physically light on my equipment, and superb maintenance. obviously it would be lame to replace it until needed.

Awwwe, come on now. I would love a puke green (olive drab) bike with some anodized pink brakes and Gold Hadleys, that would be the shyte. :D:rolleyes:

Those pink brakes look great. I think they would be too much on my silver and pink Flux. I do have some very sweet Formula brakes. The Hopes were my second choice.

This is the Liquid Nitrogen tank which feeds the new Laser cutter (to cut disc rotors and floating centres amongst other things) The temperature inside the tank is -196 deg C! which keeps the 2000 litres of liquid nitrogen in it's sci-fi state.

When pumped through to the machine (some 50 metres away) the liquid is turned into gas through an integral vaporiser which means those 2000 litres are good for 1,368,000 litres of gas for cutting! That might sound like an awful lot - but with the machine running over 20 hours day the tank is replenished every 2 weeks. The tank is outside right next to the picnic tables used for lunch - roll on summer and outdoor air-con!
