Mountain Biking - Pics of my sweet new lamp

I rode this fork for about 6-7 years and thousands of miles. It's last big ride was the Cascade Cream Puff 100 last summer. The mud here in Oregon finally took its toll and etched the first half inch of the upper legs, so here it is in its retirement...

I now know what I am doing with an old Indy I have. Not as cool looking as a SID but I love this kind of recycling.

That would be really cool. I have a Wound Up carbon road fork that was damaged in a crash (the dude hit a car and it broke the steerer off at the crown) that I was going to use originally, but then I retired the SID.

I also have a Girvin Vector 2 still kicking around. I upgraded the MCU to steel springs, so from a "back in the day" point of view it wouldn't make nearly as cool a lamp.

An AMP would be perfect for something like this. I'll be looking forward to the pictures.

Haha... that's been bugging me. The shade was some weird thing from Ikea. The mount is as big around as the steerer. At first it was great, but after a week it started to slide down, so I'd have to put it a little high or a little crooked to keep it from sliding. I put a ring of electrical tape around the steerer to form a lip to keep it straight and up and the problem has been solved.

I don't know if I'm offended of flattered at that remark. Either way, I just need to figure out how to get the whole fork to glow, then it'd look perfect in the front window.

I'll throw a design problem out there for some feed back...

I have some extra v-brakes and cantis laying around that I was thinking of mounting. I'd like to incorporate them into the switch, ideally so that squeezing the brake arms together would turn on the light. The switch itself is one of those push through type switches (it sticks out on one side, you push it in to turn it on, and it pops out on the other side), so I don't know if it really lends itself to working like that.

Any ideas on how to rig a switch like that up to a brake? Any other switches out there that I could just splice into the cord? Let's hear your ideas.
