We all have a favorite, what is your all time favorite band? What about your band of the week?
For me, all time favorite is REM, however, for the last week or two I have been on a huge Cake kick, no, not the food. Short Skirt, Long Jacket. Love you Madly. Italian Leather Sofa... great songs.

possibly the most under-appreciated indie artist in america...critics praise him...fans drive eight hours to hear him...but the records don't get into the stores...check him at www.pastemusic.com
I listen to alot of Dave Matthews Band, probably more than is healthy. But I have been on a recent Pink Floyd kick.
Floyd definately takes the cake for greatest band of all time.

All-time favorite - REM. Went to their concert in Denver a month or so back. Great concert on a bloody cold night :D. Not many bands out there can do two hit-filled concerts on consecutive nights and not repeat a single song!
Big Dave Matthews (either DMB or solo) fan too...
Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble because, well,
it speaks to me.
Lately I've been listening to alot of Hendrix and Floyd.
(and you thought all I listened to was Buffett!)

Someones always yelling,
Turn him down"

Floyd definately takes the cake for greatest band of all time.
Can't argue there! I listened to so much Floyd growing up, though, that I rarely listen to them anymore. There will always be a soft spot in my heart for Pink Floyd.
The bands I seem to listen to the most these days are Modest Mouse and Calexico.

All time - Probably Crosby Stills Nash & Young, but Pink Floyd, Santana, Caravan, Buffalo Springfield , Led Zeppelin must feature. Then there's artists such as Jimmy Smith, Lou Donaldson, Grant Green... the list goes on...

Floyd and Led Zep stay high on my list.
I've been listening to a lot of Audioslave recently...But like ChrisL - ask me again next week...
All-time favorite: INXS. Convoy and Pearl Jam are very close second and third.
Another Cake lover. Joe, back in the day I'd could see Cake at the Press Club or the Fox & Goose for a $2 cover. I just heard a cut on KCRW of McRae doing the lyrics for a new Kinky song. Good stuff.
Right now I've got Radiohead in high rotation and I'm thinking of picking up the new Outkast. Yes, I realize I'm all over the board, but a good hook is a good hook.

We opened for Adam Ant, INXS, Eurhytmics, REM, The Motels, The Producers and a little band from Dublin, U2.

At the moment I have Tom Petty, Bob Seger, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Bush and REM in random rotation on my stereo.
Yesterday I was listening to David Bowie and Mozart symphonies.
Poppaspoke: I love your list. I disagree with your judgment of the Eagles, but, hey, that's what makes the world go round. I need to add some King Crimson to my CD collection. I used to have Starless, Red, and Court of the Crimson King on vinyl.

Besides Uncle Tupelo, and U2, I have to put in a vote for James. My wife is huge on Radiohead and Jimi Hendrix among others. Since I keep a daily blog, I have been including my daily commuting songs with each post, if there was something I was singing out that day. Today's song is going to be "Dragonfly" by Ziggy Marley.
