Hello all, I'm not a hardcore tandem rider but my dad gave me this a couple of years ago. I did a quick restore job on it just to make it decent to ride. I'm trying to find out who this is made by. There were no decals or anything on it when I received it. I know it really belongs in the C&V threads but I figured the true tandem guys(and girls) would be here. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Possibly a 1960's-era mass-marketed bike: Montgomery Ward, Huffy, Western Flyer? If it was a Schwinn, it would have some 'Schwinn approved' markings on some of the components.
Looks pretty good and nice restoration; like the super-long chainguard!

I thought the tensioner sprocket was pretty cool..It's the longest chain I've ever had to clean and lube. Had to use alot of Pedro's. I'll have to look closer at the components to see if I can find some markings..

It looks an awful lot like my Huffy. I'll try to take some pictures.

Note that the front handlebars on my bike are likely not original- and some other poor repair work is evident as well. And the Krylon paint job.

I believe that's a match. The frame is identical. You need to put that together so you can ride it. They make great neighborhood cruisers. Thanks so much for the pics. I'm impressed with Huffy's quality back then. It is a heavy beast though...

Looks like a perfect match up!
Back then, Huffy was still built in the US.
In 1973 my wife rode her first 100-mile event on a 10 speed Huffy with upright bars in Ohio. After that feat, told her she deserved a better bike, so she got a Fuji S10SL (a mixte frame with drop bars).

That Huffy I have is destined for a reverse-bakfiets treatment if I can work up the energy. I've got the seat and the seatpost, had them off checking size on another bike. Several things have been repaired poorly- front handlebars have been welded to the clamp, for example, and that screw on the front fender.
Just riding around the house a bit, it seemed pretty unimpressive. Frame is flexy, so the stoker feels like they're going to fall over. Captain's toes can clip the front wheel. But, the wheels look nice and heavy, so we'll see how it works out.
