McEwen in Het Volk
Ditto.
For some reason I feel like the punchy little Aussie is a shoe-in.

Het Volk: Devolder, because he's a man who can ride any terrain, any time he f___ing feels like it. And he deserves it.
Unlike that nancy-boy Boonen.
Yes, I said that.
KBK: Some sprinter. Whatever. I haven't heard McEwen's name in any race results so far this year, so I don't know if he's ready for it. You have to have legs to make it over them thar hills, and I'm guessing he'll be out there to get them, not use them.

He Doesn't have a chance.
You have to be in the race to have a chance to win it.

Het Volk: Devolder,....
KBK: Some sprinter.
We seem to be the opposites in calling this race :P. Sprinter HV and Classics Rider KBK v. Classics Rider HV and Sprinter KBK. Either way I'd be glad to see Devolder get another win, he had such a strong year last year I hope he blosoms at Quick Step.
Oh and as for comments of Robbie etc not getting to the line in Het Volk I recall reading somewhere I think it was Tommeke saying that he thought Volk would end with a moderately select group of 50-70 this year, no huge race of attrition due to the 20 km that are flat into the finish allowing Silence etc. to bring their sprinters back into it if a break gets away.

Robbie is not on the start list.
Robbie is not on the start list.
www.cyclingnews.com has him starting both days
And yes, the last 35k or so is a flat run in for Het Volk this year, so groups could merge back together before the finish, but I doubt it will be the 50-60 as Boonen predicts.

Wow he wasn't on it earlier, but still he is not going to win. :)

Het Volk - Philippe Gilbert: his time has come
His time came in 2006. I think he can do it again.

Cozza: I had the moustache before David Zabriskie, and I got him to grow one. I have it off and on. I am used to the wind, and this moustache helps me know which way the wind is blowing.

I tell the new young guys to turn your head until the wind blows in your ear as if their girlfriend is blowing into it. Wherever their ear is pointing is where the wind is coming from. Put a rider there to get shelter.
They never forget how to figure out from where the wind is blowing.
Plus it'd take me about 30 years to grow that mustache.

lol, I learned that wind trick from sailing. Get you head pointing into the wind, and put a rider's head where you're looking. I like the girl blowing in your ear trick though -- of course I mentor a lot of women -- may still apply to some -- but I digress
What a fantastic race!!

Quick-Step must be pretty disappointed, a team that was absolutely stacked and the best they can do is slotting Wouter, probably 6th most important of the team of 8, at 16th at almost 5 minutes back.
Suprised that Hushovd powered in for 3rd, that's a good sign for his classics campaign, maybe he'll get another Ghent or even do well tommorow in KBK.
Oh and I felt quite stupid for picking Robbie, seeing as he pulled out after 20 km for some reason, better luck tommorow?

why?

why?
He always seemed more like a bunch sprint guy to me, I know he's a bit of a more powerful rider as is cited by his Ghent win, and Tour prologue, but coming into the classics Hushovd just wasn't one of the first names that was on my mind when I was thinking of podiums. I have learned my lesson :p

KBK...wow - excellent race. Good examples of experience over inexperience. Echelons getting riders kicked out the back and the wheelsucking move at the end. Great stuff.
