Just out for an hour and half on our Parker Trails.
Twas great!
I got in three afternoon rides this week, all around bear creek lake park. Great weather until the sun went behind the foothills, then it got pretty chilly.
here's a picture I took from the top of Mt. carbon this Wednesday.

I have been out riding at least a few times a week since the end of Dec when I purchased my mountain bike. Didn't have it in me to ride a century so I took my fixed gear out for a short 60 miles from thornton to boulder. I found a jamba juice in Superior and fueled the remained of my ride with an arazmataz. Yummy!
Oh and for some idiotic reason I decided to head south down mccaslin. Mega climbing on a fixed gear. Just about the hardest thing I have done in ages. Had to stop once when my heart rate jumped into zone 5.
I knew there were Winter Refuseniks out there. Rode yesterday (just up City Creek again) and plan to ride Sunday afternoon, if this Pacific storm clears and it doesn't ice up over night. Good to hear from you all!
Record 74F but quite windy, 18F and snow tomorrow
Got a nice ride in - at least going north.
Coming back into a very strong south wind provided a tough ride.
Snow starting at midnight, several inches tomorrow, 18F predicted for tomorrow night.
I swam for an hour this am, then rode for 1.5 hours this pm.
Anyone else get out today?
Well, I got a couple hours in yesterday. Just city riding. I like to go downtown and ride all over the place on my old Centurion. Sometimes I just explore and watch people. I hung out and talked bike talk with a homeless guy in the park. Barked at dogs. I wore shorts, exposing my pasty legs in public, for the first time since autumn. I got a cup of coffee. I thought about going to Critical Mass, and rode by the Gallivan Center. The obnoxious guy was there, as usual though, so I rode on by, as usual. I hate him. He said he was moving away last summer, and he's still here. The old Schwinn with the gas tank was still parked outside the antique shop. The small patches of snow were brown, and bleeding in the parking lots. The parks were getting crowded, and people were pushing strollers again.
And today.....the wind. the rain. and the snow.
Hi Denver people - It looks like you're going to get what we got today... a blast of warm Pacific air followed by rain, snow, and generally wet cold March, coming in like a lion. The sky early this morning was red ("sailor take warning"). I hope to try riding again tomorrow PM, but this storm looks to be more substantial than first predicted. We'll see though. Today I saw a pair of flickers on a fence, and a pair of doves on the power line, in their usual spot again. There were lots of bikers out this morning, but I had to go to a seminar that lasted all day. I was at someone's house in the Avenues, and noticed bike after bike go by on my way there. I felt envy rumbling away, deep down, but tried to transcend it.
Blizzarding in Parker - whew!
Yay! Out comes the mountain bike tomorrow. Get to play in the snow.
Got in a nice 40 miler up to Lookout Mtn and back in that great 70* weather yesterday. Now we've got 4 inches of snow. At least it ought to melt faster than the Dec/Jan snows.
I went out to get some stuff from the store after riding around town all week, and found 20 goat heads in my rear tire alone! What a way to end a perfect week.
Boy, I haven't missed those things over the winter.
March in Steamboat-- you can ride all day sometimes, and the next day have to shovel two feet of snow out of your driveway... But, the mountain is still open!

Where's Devil's Backbone? I haven't heard of that one.
You know the weather is right for exercise when you can easily hit an indicated 20MPH in high gear just crossing a street! Just watch out for that bare spot... SSSSssssssssssss.............. :D

Its not too early - just keep riding. These things happen.
Funny comic ~
Great day for riding in SLC yesterday. Today would have been great, but I had yard work to do. Guess I should re-think my priorities. :)
Hi Waldo - yes, yesterday was great but i had to work. Today was pretty good too, but guess what I did? Yard work. Tomorrow!
I just got a bike in late February. I've ridden it twice now to and from work. Weather wasn't a factor but I got sick and just didn't think it would be smart. In Colorado it's getting really nice already. We still have random snow but this morning it was low 40's and sunny. Beautiful weather. I hope to start hitting the trails on the weekend soon.
