Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Posting this here for a couple of reasons:
1. I hang out in commuting
2. The weather for the ride tomorrow is going to keep many who aren't used to riding in cold weather away.
FYI for most of you...
There is a Sheldon Brown Memorial Ride and Service tomorrow. It is leaving from Harris Cyclery in Newton, MA at 11am. There's a service at 1:30. I'm going and will report back.
Details can be found from www.harriscyclery.com.

I'll dedicate tomorrows ride in Sheldon's memory. Please pass along my regards to all those who attend.

Is there ample parking in the area? Can you recommend a place to park for those of us coming in for the ride? — Thanks!

Thanks to Alancw3 who already had posted information about this in several other forums.
MTBaddict, if you are going to be bringing a bike by car you should not have a problem finding parking, especially given it is Sunday. Just give yourself a few extra minutes to find parking. Look at the map linked from the Harris Cyclery page.
There is a small parking lot 1.5 blocks west of the memorial site on the south side of the street. That may fill up. You should also be able to find parking on many streets in the neighborhood immediately to the north of Washington street.

Sorry it took me so long to get these up. The ride was nice. The day was clear and the roads good, but very cold. Ride-time temperature was just under 30 degrees and I don't think it got over 35.
I was with the first group out, left about 10 minutes before the official start time. One of the guys from Harris Cyclery estimated there were between 60 and 75 riders. I think that's pretty good given the temperature. The ride was 26 miles from Newton to Sudbury and back through Lincoln.
The memorial service itself was great with many bike related remembrances and lots of music and dancing.
Attached are a few pictures. One from the ride, one from the post-service reception (John Allen is in the lower right corner), and one of one of Sheldon Brown's kid-back tandems.
Best to all.
