Hi, New member here, I have a 1986 Zunow that was modified for cantilever brake bosses for some trail & cyclocross.
I would like to remove these and re-furbished the frame. Just wondering if the removal will weaken the frame and forks critically.

Where do I get original decals?

Depends. If they were silver-brazed they can be heated and removed without "cooking" the tubes. If brass, the amount of heat required can weaken the tubing a bit. Would probably be safest to hack them off with a good saw and then clean up the rest with a file.

You can just cut them off and file it smooth. If you are careful you won't dip into the stay material and you won't re-heat it again.

And hey, you might try just cutting them off and then filing them. If somebody hasn't already posted that idea... Lmao.

I would check to see if they are silver brazed first. if they are heating wont do damage and it will take alot less finishing time. Trust me cutting and filing braze ons is a *****
