Northern California - Birthday Ride - 3/8

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey guy's and gal's, I'm totally bummed!. I've been required by "The Man" my female boss who I unforutunately like and don't want to let down, to hold open house one weekend day. I'm obligated on Sunday so Sat. I have to do it and getting down there for a ride and back would be tough to do...so I'm out. Lo siento mucho Amigos, No es bueno. :(

Oh man, who's going to be the politically uncorrect representative of our group on the ride? Oh well ... we'll hook up another time.

Sorry I'm going to miss it Ron, but I need to go to karate class Saturday morning as I've missed it too many times recently.
Hope you have a great ride! :bday:

:( I'm out too. I just started Personal Trainer sessions (they came with the 24hrs membership) and the guy had me doing leg presses, curls, step ups, etc. My legs are Jello, painful Jello. I'm going to see if I can do a little riding but Kings Mtn would be too much.
I'm hoping the pain will result in some improvement in cycling at least.

Thanks for the update everyone ... and also thanks for the birthday wishes. I'll try to take pics, but not being on the bike for a week, and not riding anything significant since the ride up Sierra for the Tour of Ca Stage 3, I'm not sure how far back I'll be behind everyone else.

Happy Birthday Ron. Another ride I won't be able to make - my attendance record will be a lot better if we start having some rides on Sundays....

I'll just put this out there now..maybe beginning of April On a Sunday, I'm doing a Tour de Falafal in the city. Two option ride Hill/flat. I have two new recruits for the BF team that I'm training who I'll introduce a little later. One has the eye of the tiger and has asked me to train her to race. So we'll make a day of it and kind of a meet and greet for anybody who wants to bring beginners kids and fraidy cats. Also I expect attendence from the usual suspects and I won't mention any names, I'll just send out my "Mad Cosmic Vibe" and "Ye shall know that Thou hath been hailed!"

I'm still in for Saturday, assuming I wake up in time. :p
I'd probably be in for a n00b ride, too, being one and all.

Thanks Jo, for the cute smiley's ... I really do appreciate it. Only wish you could be on the ride too, but you're probably on the Davis 200k (probably something I should be doing).
The weather today should be excellent. According to Accuweather, partly sunny, with high in the mid 60's.
Oh, and happy birthday to Siu Wind too.
I'm still in for Saturday, assuming I wake up in time. :pWell, ain't I the dunce o' the day. I got everything ready to go, got my clothes out, and... forgot to set my alarm, and slept in until 6:30. :(
Have a good ride(s) everyone, and happy pre-birthday to ya. :)
