Hi. I have just replaced the freehub of my new Ksyrium ES back wheel from a Campy setup to Shimano setup by installing a new freehub I bought on Ebay. I notice that the Shimano freehub does not came with a silver cover (see pictures below, the ones in the left with the yellow sticker is the campy freehub, the picture in the right side is the shimano hub already installed) and the one from the Campy setup does not fit because it has a different diameter. Am I missing something or is that the Shimano setup does not uses this part? By the way, the Mavic dealers maintenance webpage does not shows this piece on their pictures and I beleive the one they show is the Shimano setup.
Thanks,
Francisco

Most campy cassettes dont come with a lockring, so this is a good thing to get with the body. Campy uses a different size and threading than shimano cassette bodeis do.

So, then I am not missing anything in my Shimano setup withy the new freehub?

No, your fine. That silver ring is a lock ring. It tightens against the cassette to hold the cassette on the freehub body.
Most if not all Shimano cassettes come with a lock ring and that is what you will use when you install the cassette.
