It may well be that the drivers need more training, but I also suspect individuals have gotten more impatient over the years. In their minds, the reason for their own hurry takes precedence over all other considerations. I think as cyclists, we see this every day.

I grew up in Michigan. My parents taught me that the snow plow was doing work for the benefit of all and to stay the heck out of its way - no matter what mode of travel I was using. We all want the roads to be clear. Seems like common sense to me.
