Right now I have Shimano MT 20 and Cannondale Roan shoes and I'm looking for something lighter. I don't really think I need the lugged soles either.

I bought Specialized S-works full carbon with Boa lacing. Fantasic light shoes great lacing system, well ventilated and comfortable on long rides absolutely deadly if you have to walk any distance because of the clipless pedal lugs. Other than that I'd give them 4 stars

I've got two pair. Love 'em. Snug heel, roomy toe box. The Specialized may work well for you too.
I tried on about a dozen pair of shoes at a big Performance store in CA, and the Shimano were the best for me. Try on as many different shoes as you can.

I have SPD style pedals (platform on one side, clips on the other). My current shoes are fine but I would like to get something cool for summer. I remember DenverFox mentioning some sort of clipped sandals he wore. Does anyone know what those are (now that Denver isn't around to answer)?

I have a set of Sette SPD sandals from Pricepoint. THey work great and are very comfortable for walking. I believe they are identical to the Nashbar-brand sandals that used to be sold at Nashbar.
I believe the Settes have less strap coverage than the Shimano and therefore would appear to be cooler and more sandal-like. The Shimanos almost seem to look like shoes with small gaps between the straps. The Lakes (also sold at Nashbar) look very nice, but a lot more expensive, fwiw.
