I went down to the gym that i've been frequenting everyday for the last month today to have a general fitness assessment. I had some ideas about where i should be compared to where i started.

They tested my:
Body fat %
Weight
Back Flexibility
blood pressure
Resting heart rate
aerobic fitness level

well, to start, when i started going to the gym i was 250 and about 21.7% bodyfat. I am now 238.9lbs and 18.6% body fat. I am now about 2lbs of fat away from being inside the "fit" category. i lost ~11lbs in a month from working out hard every day, now i need to change my diet and drop even more. my blood pressure was a bit high, but i usually isnt, i have just been really stressed the past few days. and my resting heart rate was slightly better then average. but my back flexibility and aerobic fitness both need significant improvement.

what this has taught me is that at my height (5'10"), i will always be a clyde for the rest of my life. according to my bf%, my ideal weight is 205lbs at 5% body fat. My goal is actually to hit 210lbs and i will be very satisfied with being around 7.5%. there is no hope of me every dipping below the 200lb mark, unless i enter a vegetative state. i am proud of this, that i can be over 200lbs and healthy. if you could see my frame, you would understand why it is unrealistic for me to hope to be less then 200lbs.

i feel good today. i'm proud of myself so far.

EDIT: it was also almost 60ºF in PA today, so i went for a short ride as my butt is still getting used to my bicycle. I really enjoyed it.
