I've got my big hill rides planned out for this year:
Chilly Hilly (plus extra miles/hills): Completed. 81 miles, 4950' elevation.
7 Hills of Kirkland: May 26th. either 62.5mi, 4600' elevation or 100mi, 7000' elevation. I have to decide based on how I feel after doing the 5000' of climbing on the Tour de Cure the previous weekend.
Chelan Century Challenge: June 14th. 100 miles, 9300' elevation. This is gonna be my monster for the year.
I don't know which I'll be more proud of: Finishing the Chelan Century (if I manage to!) or finishing the double century for Seattle to Portland.
I looked up the component specs on my Cross Check complete, and I can put a 34t chainring; plus the Tiagra mid-cage derailleur in back will handle up to a 34t cassette, so I'm ordering an 11-28 to replace the stock 11-25.
Current lowest gear - 36/25 = 38.5 inches
Upcoming lowest gear - 34/28 = 32.5 inches
