Ok I am 5'11'' and about 240lbs. I hate mountain bikes and would like to stay away from those if I can. So I would like some ideas that would fit my need. Such as riding around on street/dirt and taking it off some ramps/jumps every now and then. A price range of max $300.00 would be nice or even some suggestion of material I should look for and size I should look for.

Thanks for any help.

Too expensive.
You can buy completes with a longer toptube if you really feel the need.

Ok so looks like I am going with the DK General Lee 24" any suggestion on upgrades before I start riding or should I wait to upgrade and have a feel for the bike?

I will also be mainly riding on the street while my friends skate board and the occasional park should I switch out the tires to a better street tire?

buy aluminum bar ends since they come with plastic ones. You will thank me later.

I'd wait a little bit to upgrade. Break it in!

Honestly, size doesn't play a huge role in bmx bike sizes. Height does. I'm 5' 11" and ride a Mutiny Burlish with a 20.75" top tube. If you want a bmx, get a 20". A cruiser is just going to feel like a MTB like a Giant STP or something like that. I weigh about 260 right now, and i ride a little bike that weighs 22 lbs. flat. Most bikes will hold up just fine.
