I know, I will try it out before buying. However, before I set anything up with the buyer, I want to know right out the shoot if the scalpel 2000 is to big for me, or if its borderline. I currently ride a cannondale f600 in a medium, the scalpel is a large. Im 5'10 and feel like the medium could be larger, but it feels good. The scalpel is a size large. Its a great deal, and Im thinking I will test ride it, if the size is not the big of change from medium to large. Any input, thanks

The strange thing about the scalpel for me is that I ride a large Cannondale hard tail and a large jekyll but the medium scalpel fit me best and I handle the bike like I was riding it when I came out of the womb.

When I measured the dimensions the Med scalpel was close to the Large F1000(caad4) I was riding most of the time.

I did change the stem since the stock stem had a significant rise to it.

Be careful. A deal is only a deal if it fits.

Im well aware of the fit being the top priority, but it is tempting. I guess what Im really struggling with is the real need for a full suspension - even if the scalpel is short travel, do I really need it here in Wisconsin,

Niko , i cant help with cdales , but given my specialized ht, i ride a large ht but the fs specializeds seems to fit me best on the medium size. I am 6ft.2". By the way, are you Greek?

It is ALLL personal preference and body shape.

I am an inch shorter than Math2p14, but I ride a Large Specialized FSR. And that's got a GOOOD bit of seat post still sticking up on it.

My Banshee is a Large, but my old hardtail (specialized Stumpjumper) was a 17" (medium).

Give it a test ride and see what you think.

either testride or get the geometry data and try and figure out if it will fit well. for FS rigs or technical riding i'd go with a slightly smaller frame size. for XC HT's a larger frame size fits me fine. but that's just me.
