Winter Cycling - Iditarod Trail Invitational

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anybody following the Iditarod Trail Invitational ? http://www.alaskaultrasport.com/alaska_ultra_home_page.html
Awesome! It makes all of the commuting that I've been doing everyday this winter seem like a ride around the block. This is Hard Core Biking at it's best (or worst).

I did not realize it was running already.
Thanks for the post! I will follow it now.
Is it whacked to want to do the Iditarod?? (Although you could say the same thing for commuting in a northern climate)

Word is it's been total slush. I don't know why they decided to wait till March to do this. It should have been set a month ago when things were still cold. We get Chinook winds in here all the time in March, which is one reason the dog race has been pushing further north for its start. Do this in January and slush will NOT be a problem LOL
