Hello Vancouver cyclists,

I am considering taking an intro bike maintenance workshop. There are a couple of choices and I was wondering if anyone had experiences (good or bad) with these. Feel free to let me know about ones I haven't mentioned here.

Our Community Bikes
Intro to Bike Repair
3 hours
$40

Jett Grrl
Intro Repair Class
2 hours
$42

If it makes any difference, one thing I really want to learn to do is maintain/adjust my brakes. Currently, they are one of the great mysteries to me.

Thanks for your input!

Hi Charlene:

I plan on attending Jett Grrl's Intro class, hopefully in April. If you are interested in brakes specifically, you might be interested in Jett Grrl's Beginner course rather than the Intro course, as I think it focuses on brakes and gears while the Intro is the basics - fixing a tire, etc.

The Our Community Bikes session sounds like it would be good also. Let me know if you attend either and what you thought. I'm thinking that taking a variety of courses would be good for me because I'm a total novice.
